Everything in Nancy’s life and art has been influenced by children and how they see the world. In the past, as a partner in a commercial mural business she enjoyed opportunities to paint in schools while children watched and learned. Now, as an elementary art teacher she has the job of opening the eyes of children to different cultures and ways to express themselves.
A graduate of Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, Nancy was trained as a fine art painter but recently has great interest in design and illustration.
She works in watercolor or gouache and always strives to tell a story using combinations of color, pattern and image. She has been influenced by the bright graphic illustrations of Charles Harper and Lois Ehlert. Nancy lives in Connecticut near her 4 children and four grandchildren.
